Hate Symbol

GTKRWN

All the symbols depicted in the hate symbols database must be evaluated in the context in which they appear. Few symbols represent just one idea or are used exclusively by one group. For example, 100% is often used as an amount or an expression and it is also used by some white supremacists as shorthand for "100% white." Similarly, other symbols in this database may be significant to people who are not extreme or racist. The descriptions here point out significant multiple meanings but may not be able to relay every possible meaning of a particular symbol.

ALTERNATE NAMES: GTK

GTKRWN (also GTK RWN) is a white supremacist acronym for the racist and antisemitic slogan “Gas the Kikes; Race War Now.” Occasionally, white supremacists may only use the first part of the acronym: GTK.  The slogan appears to have been created around 2014 and is most associated with the alt right and neo-Nazi segments of the white supremacist movement.

The phrase is used as a “call to action” slogan by some white supremacists, but some others use the acronym to describe a certain portion of the white supremacist movement itself. In this latter context, the acronym is typically used as a somewhat negative reference to less sophisticated and more headstrong, outspoken or crudely violent white supremacists. For example, one 8Chan user admiringly posted in June 2018 about people able understand Nazism “beyond GTKRWN and Hitler pictures.”
